Four Mile Run 1864
Dublin Core
Title
Four Mile Run 1864
Subject
Arlington during the Civil War
Description
"Four Mile Run" Va. Feby 1864.
A man in a dark suit seated with a newspaper, map, or other large-format document, is surrounded by a group of Union soldiers and civilians. Though none of the men are named, an ink inscription along the bottom of the mount places them along Four Mile Run, Va., a creek that originates in East Falls Church and flows through Arlington into the Potomac River.
Is the man in the suit a photographer? Perhaps the group are telegraph operators or a bridge-building party?
Carte de visite by anonymous photographer.
